Padre Manjon - A Serious Profile

Many, many years ago, when I was still a student of Bachillerato at a religious private school for girls, I begged my parents to let me leave that school and allow me to do my final year of Bachillerato in a mixed High School. I was fed up with nuns, single-sex classes and narrow-mindedness. It took me a long time to convince them, but finally they agreed to let me change my school and then I enrolled in Padre Manjon High School to study PREU (Curso Preuniversitario). And my last year of Secondary Education was a great success. I had wonderful teachers, I learned a lot, I made great friends and it was certainly the greatest year of my school life.
I just mention all this because I'm going to write about Padre Manjón, not the school, but the man.

Here is some information about 'Priest Manjón' that I've found in Internet.

Between 1889 and 1923, Andrés Manjón, priest and Law professor in Granada, carried out his pedagogic work in Ave-María Schools, which he founded, among the poorest children of Albaicín and Sacromonte. His peculiar pedagogical and methodological principles, similar in many ways to those developed by the emerging Active School, also known as École Nouvelle, arise from his desire to regenerate the decadent society of the time by means of education and especially from the love and respect he professed towards childhood. In his schools, Manjón practiced an outdoor, lively, ludic, active, physical, intellectual, moral and religious teaching, aimed at achieving a whole education in order to raise “upright” men and women, prepared for life in society. His strong religious believes made him base this particular pedagogical work on christian values, and so moral and religious education became the centre of all his school teaching. A. Manjón made use of all subjects in order to achieve his objective. Even in such a “dry” and “abstract” discipline as Mathematics he found means and resources to introduce the social, ethical and religious applications that characterize his work. In this paper, we describe some of the strategies used by the founder of Ave-María Schools to teach Arithmetic and Geometry as well as inculcate moral, social and religious values at the same time. Although the example that Manjón´s peculiar value education provides is inevitably conditioned to his historical, social and personal circumstances, nowadays it can inspire some ideas to deal with values such as peace, tolerance and solidarity in Mathematics classes.

Look at these images.
Sometimes we do not realize what's around us. We believe it is something that will always be there and yes, but ... should we not treat it with respect? Llittle by little we are destroying each landscape, each flower, each image.
Do we not realize that we are polluting our planet?
Do we prefer these images? We should look after what it is ours. We are not realizing that we are destroying our world and what is here. We have to blame ourselves!! We must do something!

If I were a Boy

IF I WERE A BOY - Beyonce

If I were a boy, Even just for a day.
I'd roll out of bed in the morning and throw on want
I wanted and go.
I'd drink beer with the guys
And chase after girlsI'd kick it with who I wanted
And I never get confronted for it
Because they stick up for me
If I were a boy I'd think I could understand
How it feels to love a girlI swear
I'd be a better man
I'd listen to her
Cuz I know how it hurts
When u lose the one you wanted
Cuz his taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
If I were a boy
I would turn off my phone
Tell everyone it's broken
So they think
That I was sleeping alone I'd put myself first
And make the rules as I go
Cause I know that
She be faithful
Waiting for me to come home (COME HOME)
If I were a boy
I'd think I could understand
How it feels to love a girlI swear
I'd be a better man
I'd listen to her
Cuz I know how it hurts
When u lose the one you wanted
Cuz his taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
It's a little too late for you to come back
Say it's just a mistake think I would forgive you like that
If you thought I would wait for you, you thought wrong
But you're just a boy
You don't understand
How it feels to love a girl
Someday you wish you're were a better man
You don't listen to her
You don't care how it hurts
Until you lose the one you wanted
Cuz you taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed!
But you just a boy.

See you later, Antonio Vega. We´ll miss you!

ANTONIO VEGA

One of our best singers in Spain (Madrid) died two days ago.
The cause of his death was a lung cancer.

He has had a successful life.
When he was 51 years old, he left us only with his songs.

Everyone will remember this song from the 80´s.

"La chica de ayer"

THE LAST LAUGH

Happy Anniversary!

Jack and Betty are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
-" Betty, I was wondering: have you ever cheated on me? "
-" Oh Jack, why would you ask such a question now? "
-" Please, Betty, I really want to know. "
-" Well, all right. Yes, three times."
-" Three? When were they?"
-" Well, Jack, remember when you were 35 and you really wanted to start the business on your own and no bank would give you a loan? Remember how one day the bank president himself came over to the house and signed the loan papers, no questions asked? "
-"Oh, Betty, you did that for me! I respect you even more than ever! So, when was number 2? "
-" Well. Jack, remember when you had that last heart attack and you were needing that tricky operation, and no surgeon would touch you? Remember how Dr Edwards suddenly decided to do the surgery himself, and then you were in good shape again? "
-" I can't believe it! Betty, I love that you should do such a thing for me, to save my life! I couldn't have a more wonderful wife. You must really love me, darling! I couldn't be more moved. When was number 3? "
-" Well, Jack, remember a few years ago, when you really wanted to be president of the golf club and you were 17 votes short?

I have chosen this picture because in June I am going to England with my boyfriend. I will travel in plane from Malaga. We will be in Trowbridge, but some day we will visit London. I don´t speak English too much, but my boyfriend is English and he will help me. I hope that it is hot!

I will go shopping and I will bring gifts for my family and I will buy clothes for myself!

I hope that these holidays are great! =)

Love is all around:)First term!

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
The love that's all around me
And so the feeling grows

It's written on the wind
It's everywhere I go (oh, yes it is)
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show

You know I love you, I always will
My mind's made up, by the way that I feel
There's no beginning,
There'll be no end
'Cause on my love, you can depend

Do you remember Love Actually?
I love this song! :-)

....:O

when i saw this picture my heart broke....but when i read the story I almost broke down and cried.
This picture shows a child crawling towards a Unites Nations food camp, located a kilometer away. The vulture is waiting for the child to die so that it can eat it. This picture shocked the whole world. No one knows hat happend to the child, including the photographer Kevin Carter who left the place as soon as the photograph was taken.
Kevin Crter won the " Pulitzer prize" with this amazing picture which broke a lot of hearts.
Three months later he commited suicide due to depression.

Why would he save that child? Thats a question no one ever wants to find out....

The river “Velillos” flows close to my village

It’s a village where you can appreciate it’s historical backgrouund. It’s was occupated by muslims many years ago and you can learn about their culture here.

If you want to get relaxed and to have a good time come and visit Moclín.

What is this, what happens to relationships, started off
so good and ended up so bad? Baby I just wanna know,
ooh tell me do you know?
Baby before we knew it, we were at it again, no no no,
somehow I don't think we can ever be friends, wish it wasn't so,
wish it wasn't so, but you did the same.
Now we're caught in a circle a constant battle.
The day that you hurt me the clouds cast a shadow on us.
And I hope that you're happy we're even now,
so cry baby cry.
Let me see you cry, cry, cry.
I need to see you cry, cry, cry,
until your tears run dry, dry, dry.
Like a desert needs the rain,
want your tears to fall down on me.

A good song

Hello! I have chosen the song "I kissed a girl"(Katy Perry) because I think that it has in his lyric many of the verbal forms that we have studied, also because it is a very famous song and his singer is very beautiful. :)
this is a part of the song:

I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it
Here I put the link to see whole lyric:

Spring is the best season of the year so enjoy this wonderful season

Dying in your arms

I love this song. It is one of the songs that I listen to when I need to remember someone who is very special for me.

She's my self-destructive
bleeding disease
The things that makes it hard to breathe
But if I shoved you far away
This addict just starved again, asphyxiated.

PLYMOUTH

PLYMOUTH
I'd like to briefly tell you about my trip to Plymouth last summer. Plymouth is a coastal city in the United Kingdom.
I met many people there. Now I am still in contact with some people of my trip. For example:one of my best friend, Alvaro (Málaga) and Marta...
The White Rabbit.
It's a club where we stayed every night. It was really funny.
We danced, talked with other people and the monitors did contests.

The lighthouse was a very nice place. It was near the sea. We used to spend there our free time

The American Pool was a bar where we played pool, watched rugby matches and played cards
There were a lot of pools. We spent hours there talking with out friends.

Another entry of the spring

This is the spring flood of colour and life. But also full of water and cloudy skies. Equal it is hot that I fry, but the important thing there are the flowers that exist in this season.
It is necessary to give him more value to this season, because we are destroying it and very
few people realize from what it is going on.

I love spring, for its colours, its smell and its magic.
Undoubtedly it is the season of love, it is my season and that of so many other people. I hope we had enough head not to destroy it and to take more care.

Enjoy Spring! Kisses.
