EXAMPLE: ``KICKSTARTS´´

Kickstarts is a song by British rapper: Example. He has three singles, and this is from his album: ``Won't Go Quietly´´, which appeared in April 2010. The song was produced by Sub Focus, was the first of the Irish radio.

We can find the song with the official video, which is very funny.

I have chosen this song because I like rap, and I think it's a very good song from the best rapper!

Lyrics:

Start to think it could be flizzing out
Kinda shocked because I never really had any doubts
Look into your eyes imagine life with out ya
And the love kick starts again
Starts again

If you like rap, with a modern style, you´ll like this song!

You give love a bad name

The song which I've chosen to talk about is "You give love a bad name". This song was the first Bon Jovi's number one hit, and it appeared in the CD "Slippery When Wet" as the first single. After "Livin' on a prayer" (the best Bon Jovi's song ever), it's one of the best and most famous songs of the American group. I really like this song because I'm a fan of the Rock from 70's, 80's and 90's, in particular of Bon Jovi.

LYRICS
There's nowhere to run
no one can save me,
the damage is done
shot through the heart,

and you are too blame
you give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
you give love a bad name
you give love

The band members are Jon Bon Jovi (singer), Richie Sambora (guitarist), Tico Torres (drummer) and David Bryan (keyboard player).
Jon Bon Jovi's voice has been chosen as the 12th best voice to sing Rock n' Roll, and Richie Sambora is the 28th best guitarist according to Total Guitar Magazine. They both have been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Tre metri sopra il cielo

This film is based on the book ''Tre metri sopra il cielo'' which write by Federico Moccia.
First I read the book and then I saw the film, but the Italian film because it's very beutiful and the film follows the script of the book. I don't like the Spanish film because the actors are very bad and it's a cheap copy of the Italian film.
I like ''Tre metri sopra il cielo'' because I like romantic stories and at the same time it's a real story.
The actors are very good and the music is very nice.

Story:
In Rome, as in any other city in the world, young people want to fly, looking for walking ''three metres about the sky''. Girls like Baby strive in school, talk about the latest in fashion and prepare to find the love of their lives, the boys as Step prefer the speed, violence, risk, motorcycles and camaraderie of the bands but all of them are involved in life as if each second were the last.

They belong to different worlds, they want different things but they have something in common: the love that will float and hold them, love them will find and change: they'll become more savage;they'll become more soft. While, down there, the real life is demanding.

Billie Jean

One of the most popular songs of M.Jackson
I prefer the ''Earth Song'' which is the least popular of Michael Jackson's songs but I'm writing about ''Billie Jean'' because in this video we can see the first moonwalk of M.Jackson.
he sold 93 millions of CDs that's because the moonwalk was a succes.

here the video:

The lyrics:
(for if the flies)

he was more like a beauty queen from a movie scene
I said don't mind, but what do you mean I am the one
Who will dance on the floor in the round
She said I am the one, who will dance on the floor in the round

She told me her name was Billie Jean, and she caused a scene
Then every head turned with eyes that dreamed of being the one
Who will dance on the floor in the round

People always told me be careful of what you do
And don't go around breaking young girls' hearts
And mother always told me be careful of who you love
And be careful of what you do 'cause the lie becomes the truth

Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

For forty days and for forty nights
The law was on her side
But who can stand when she's in demand
Her schemes and plans
'Cause we danced on the floor in the round
So take my strong advice, just remember to always think twice
(Do think twice)

She told my baby we'd danced till three, then she looked at me
Then showed a photo my baby cried his eyes were like mine (oh, no!)
'Cause we danced on the floor in the round, baby

People always told me be careful of what you do
And don't go around breaking young girls' hearts
She came and stood right by me
Then the smell of sweet perfume
This happened much too soon
She called me to her room

Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son

Spain

I'm from Spain, which means I'm Spanish and that I speak Spanish (which is world's second most spoken first language). Spain has 504.645 square kilometres and its population is around 47.021.031 people.

Its currency is the Euro and its political system is the parliamentary democracy and the constitutional monarchy. Its current president is José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and its king is Juan Carlos I.

The capital of Spain is Madrid and some of its most important cities are: Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia, Seville...

There are famous and important Spanish people in all fields, for example:
Literature: Miguel de Cervantes, Juan Ramon Jimenez, Federico Garcia Lorca...
Art: Pablo Picasso, Francisco de Goya, Diego Velazquez...
Sciences: Santiago Ramon y Cajal, Severo Ochoa...
Sports: (Lots of Spanish footballers are well known so I will not mention them all, in fact I won't mention any of them) Rafael Nadal, Fernando Alonso, Jorge Lorenzo, Alberto Contador... (and quite more of different sports)

Spanish culture is very rich. It has some typical dances like the jota and the seguidilla or the well known flamenco. It has also lots of customs like bullfights.

I don't think there are just a few typical Spanish dishes, I think it has its unique food style. However I'll say some of the most famous Spanish dishes: Paella, Spanish omelette, fried fish...

I think Spain is not a bad place to live, it has great weather, a great culture and generally speaking, the Spanish people are really kind. Although they're passing through an important financial crisis. And also I have no other choice!

WONDERWALL-OASIS

Wonderwall - Oasis

Today is gonna be the day

That they're gonna throw it back to you

By now you should've somehow

Realized what you gotta do

I don't believe that anybody

Feels the way I do about you now.

Oasis is a famous group from Manchester, I really enjoy their music, but I´ve chosen this song because I have always listened to it before a match since two years ago. I really like it.

THE CLIMB

"The Climb" is a special song,it's the first song I heard of Miley Cyrus and the fist time I heard it,I loved it.
The song is a power ballad with lyrics that describe life as a difficult but rewarding journey and how overcome your obstacles. This song is included on the EP "The time of our lives". Here is a piece of the song:

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

One of the things that I like Miley is because she can sings diffrent kinds of music as "Party in the USA","When I look at you" or a duet "When I look at you" (Te miro a ti) with David Bisbal. Hope you ike it.

My song :D

I've chosen the song "You belong with me" by Taylor Swift because it's one of my favourites.
The first time I saw her was on tv, in 2008. I heard her song "Love Story" and I fell in love with it.

I've listened to her songs since that day and I never get tired of listening to them.
Last Saturday I went to her concert and it was so wonderful, it was one of the best experiences in my life. Here there's a picture when she was playing this song in the concert.

I like Taylor because she writes her own songs and they speak about love, heart break and experiences in life that everybody feel once in their life like apologize, chilhood, friendships, even about dreams that you have and you know they are dificult to become true. I love "Back to december" and "Enchanted" too, I recommend you hear them and I hope you like it! :)

Lyrics to You Belong With Me :
You're on the phone with your girlfriend, She's upset
She's going off about something that you said
She doesn't get your humour like I do

I'm in the room, its a typical Tuesday night
I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like
And she'll never know your story like I do

But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts
She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers
Dreaming bout the day when you wake up and find
That what you're lookin for has been here the whole time

If you could see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can't you see?
You belong with me
You belong with me

PORTUGAL

An English project

Portugal has borders in the north and east with Spain; in the south-east with Spain too, but there is a natural border: the Guadiana River. In the south and west Portugal faces the Atlantic Ocean

The capital of Portual is Lisbon, which is situated in the river mouth of the Tajo River. But Portugal has also other important cities, like Coimbra and Porto, or the Algarve, where there are lots of wonderful beaches, which is why this area has so many tourists.

The food is important in Portugal; you can find different types of desserts, seafood and the speciality is cooked cod.

Some of the most popular Portuguese people are not international football stars but they have other really important people, successful people all over the world. For example;

One of the best football player in the world at the moment, Cristiano Ronaldo:

-a famous writer called José Saramago.

-an old explorer and conquerer : Vasco da Gama.

One of the important facts in Portugal happened in 1910. It was the year when this country became a republic.

The currency is the same as in Spain; the euro (€) and Portugal has been a member of the European Union since 1986.

Finally we can consider Portugal either the beginning or the ending.

I'd rather live in Spain but if i had to move to another country I think Portugal could be a good option, maybe I would choose this country!!

ALBANIA

Hello class,

Albania is a beautiful place to live but it is a small country.

The total area of Albania is 28000 square kilometres and it has not got much population, there are 3,6 million people and its capital is Tirana which is the city with more population.

People who live in Albania are Albanians and the famous people born in this country are, for example: the actors Alexander Moisiu and Bajrush Mjaku, but I do not know them

The official languages of Albania are Tosk and Gheg and its currency is the Lek.

Albania got its independence at 1912, after Balcanic wars, and Albania has been a republic since that moment.

Albania is not a member of the European Union. Albania borders with: Montenegro and Kosovo to the north, Macedonia to the east, Greece to the south and the Mediterranean sea in the west.

Other famous cities of Albania are Elbasan, Durres and Shkoder

I would like to live in Albania because I love its amazing mountains and beaches.

Thank you and be happy, class.

My Teacher Taught Me How to See

I wish I were by Micheo

My teacher taught me how to see
The lump within the daffodil's throat;

To look in clouds for the camel
And the bounding back of the stoat.

(PS.- I wish I were that teacher!)
Any ideas for a translation into Spanish??

NORWAY

Hi I´m Norwegian and I live in Oslo, the capital of this country.
The official language is Norwegian, a Germanic language.
Norway is a unitary Parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy.
The Population It´s 4.7 million people and the flag is like this:

It´s a Nordic country in Europe occupying the western Northern Portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula, is bordered by Finland to the south and Russia to the east.

The Currency is Norwegian Krone and the total area is 323.802 square kilometres.
Over the centuries IX and XI was Viking and was the unification and expansion of the country. But the Norwegian royal line died in 1387 and the country entered a period of union with Denmark.
Norway remained neutral during the First World War, but was a founding member of the United Nations. It isn't one of the countries of the European Union, but it is part of the European economic area.

Norway also is the mother of many famous people as the painter Edvard Munch, composer Edvard Grieg, the mathematician Caspar Wessel. It has also given the world three Nobel laureates in literature: Bjornstjerne Bjornson, Sigrid Undset and Knut Hamsun.

One of the most habitual ingredients in our kitchen are: fish and whale meat from hunting and the fruits are very popular as the strawberries, apples and cherries.
A very typical and common habit is drinking coffee before and after eating!!
Finally I like living here because It´s a very nice country, but has one drawback: the climate is too cold for me.

Sweden

The Swedish official language is Swedish, although there are other areas too where Finnish is spoken.

Form of government in Sweden is a constitutional hereditary monarchy. Its Constitution (1809) establishes three separate branches: executive, legislative and judicial.

The sovereign is Carlos XVI Gustaf, Sweden, from 15 September 1973. Fredrik Reinfeldt has been the Prime Minister since September 2006. The legal system is unicameral, with a parliament with 349 members.

Sweden limits the north with Norway and Finland, east to Finland and the Gulf of Bothnia, the Baltic Sea south and west by the North Sea and Norway.

It has population of 9.2 million people spread over an area of 449 964 km².

Its capital is Stockholm, but other major cities are also Gothenburg, Malmö, Kiruna and Lund.

The current currency is the Krona.

Stockholm

The cuisine is intenationally known especially for its seafood. One of his most important dishes is the “Smörgåsbord” consisting of sausages, eggs, vegetables, cereals, spreads, and cheese, and other food like “Kötbullar” has gained popularity and worldwide recongnition for its uniqueness.

This country has given the world very important public figures such Ingmar Bergman, Greta Garbo and Anita Ekberg. Swedish music is in the minds of many people synonymous with the pop group ABBA 70.

Sweden become part of European Union in 1995.

Lithuania

The name of my country is Lithuania and the nationality of its inhabitants is the Lithuanian, there the language spoken is Lithuanian. The population is 3.500.000 inhabitants and the total area is 65 000 km². The capital city is Vilnius, it is a beautiful city on the banks of the rivers Neris and Vilnia.

Lithuania is the southernmost of the three Baltic states and the largest and most populous of them. Situated along the southeastern shore of the Baltic Sea. It shares borders with Latvia to the north, Belarus to the southeast and Poland and Russia to the southwest.

The political system is the republic, Lithuania was the first occupied Soviet republic to break free from the Soviet Union and restore its sovereignty via the declaration of independence on 11 March 1990. It has been a member of the European union since 2004, but the currency isn’t the Euro, it’s the Lita.

Charles Bronson, a famous actor, was born in USA, but he grew up in Lithuania.

Lithuania’s most famous culinary export is perhaps cold beet soup. Potatoes also make a regular appearance on menus, popular dishes being potato pancakes and Cepelinai (potato dumplings stuffed with meat, curd cheese or mushrooms).

I would not mind living in Lithuania because it’s a very beautiful place, there are incredible landscapes: Lithuania has 758 rivers, more than 2 800 lakes and 99 km of the Baltic Sea coastline and the forests cover just over 30% of the country.
