South Africa

South Africa is a multi-ethnic nation. Its habitants are South Africans. There are a total of eleven languages that have been recognised in their constitution,  the most important is Afrikaans, but English is spoken too.
South Africa is a parliamentary republic where live about 51 million people. We can find an incredible diversity of cultures, these are the percentages:
 79.2% Black African
8.9% Coloured
8.9% White
2.5% Indian / Asian
0.5% other
It lies in the south of Africa, neighbouring with Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe to the north  and to the east with Mozambique and Swaziland; this situation gives  this country a biodiversity recognised in all of world, although it is in a very dangerous situation. Its total area is 1,221,037 km2 much of it is a protected area. Due to its diversity we can find vineyards that are producing more and more wine.
Its currency is the rand. It has got three capital cities, each of them dedicated to a specific field:  Pretoria (executive), Bloemfontein (judicial), Cape Town (legislative); but the largest city is Johannesburg.
Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika which means “Good bless Africa” is its wonderful anthem composed in 1897 by Enoch Sontonga:

Nelson Mandela and the apartheid:
After creating the policy of racial segregation (apartheid), Mandela becomes important within the African National Congress, especially in 1952, and the People's Congress of 1955, in which the adoption of "Freedom Charter" provides the main program in the anti-apartheid cause.
He served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999, the first to be elected in a fully representative, multiracial election. Mandela is, probably, the most famous person and the most loved in South Africa.

Finally I really would love to live in South Africa because of their natural reserves and this optimistic sense that  have in common all African cultures.
