Animals should not be kept in zoos

Many people have different opinions about this topic. There are arguments for and against keeping animals in the zoo.

On the one hand, it is good to have animals in zoos, so we can see their habitats and how they live and bring people and animals together. The zoos educate the public and foster an appreciation of the animals. This exposure and education motivates people to protect the animals.  Zoos also save endangered species by bringing them into a safe environment, where they are protected from poachers, habitat loss, starvation and predators.

On the other hand, animals in captivity suffer from stress, boredom and confinement and restricting their movements by keeping them in the confines of a zoo is unnatural.  And  when they grow up,  the habitat is little for them. Also in some zoos the animals are not treated right

In my opinion I think that  zoos are not good because the animals suffer,   if we want to see the animals in their natural habitats we could go on a safari, which is the natural habitat of the animals.

  1. This is a fantastic post, and I agree with you. It's cruel to keep animals in cages, they suffer
