Switzerland
Switzerland is not a country of the EU.
The nationality of its inhabitants is swiss. German, Italian, French and Romansh are lenguages spoken in Switzerland. Switzerland has a long and strong tradition of political and military neutrality. However, the country finally opted to join the United Nations in 2002, and the Schengen Agreement in 2005. Switzerland has been an independent country since 1499. Is the first and only country to implement people's rights system of government also known as direct democracy, which involves the constitutional initiative and the referendum.
The total population in Switzerland was last recorded at 7.9 million people. Switzerland is in the middle of western Europe and is an important transit country. There are 5 countries bordering Switzerland: France, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy.
The currency in Switzerland is the Swiss franc.
Switzerland have an area of 41,285 km2. Bern is the capital city of Switzerland. Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Lausanne, Lucerne, Winterthur, Fribourg, Thun, etc, are other of the most important cities.
Inspired by the French Revolution, supporters liberal western and eastern Switzerland, rebelled against the rule of the old members of the Swiss Confederation on other parts of the country and called for the French troops. Napoleon Bonaparte occupied Switzerland and tried to establish a central government, but he was soon forced to restore some federal elements. After Napoleon was defeated in Russia and Waterloo, Switzerland again extremely federal structures. Famous people of Switzerland: Ursula Andress was the first 'Bond Girl'.
Roger Federer is a Swiss professional tennis player who, as of March 2013, is ranked world No. 2 by the ATP.
Johanna Spyri was a Swiss author of children's stories, and is best known for her book Heidi.
David Sprüngli-Schwarz and his son, Rudolf Sprüngli-Ammann owned a small confectionery shop in the old town of Zurich, to which two years later a small factory was added to produce chocolate in solid form.
There are a many regional dishes in Switzerland. One example is Zürcher Geschnetzeltes-thin strips of veal with mushrooms in a cream sauce served with rösti. Italian cuisine is popular in contemporary Switzerland, particularly pasta and pizza. Foods often associated with Switzerland include cheese and chocolate. Swiss cheeses, in particular Emmental cheese, Gruyère, Vacherin, and Appenzeller, are famous Swiss products. The most popular cheese dishes are fondue and Raclette. Rösti is a popular potato dish that is eaten all over Switzerland. It was originally a breakfast food, but this has been replaced by the muesli, which is commonly eaten for breakfast and in Switzerland goes by the name of "Birchermüesli".
For breakfast and dinner many Swiss enjoy sliced bread with butter and jam. There is a wide variety of bread rolls available in Switzerland. Bread and cheese is a popular dish for dinner. Tarts and quiches are also traditional Swiss dishes. Tarts in particular are made with all sorts of toppings, from sweet apple to onion.
But the most famous food in Switzerland is the chocolate.

Switzerland is not a country where I'd like to live because I love another countries before this, and is not more beautiful than other european countries. Anyway, I'd like to visit Switzerland for a time in holidays because I love travel across the world and I think this country is interesting to see it for the lenguages, the dishes, the people, the culture...
