SOLAR PANELS

A solar panel is a module which uses the energy of solar radiation. It is made of a special metal: a metal sensitive to the light.

It is shaped like a square and the solar panel's colour is black. 

The solar panel can be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic system to generate and supply electricity in commercial and residential applications.

Enviromental problems in Spain

  Spain has very serious environmental problems, and they will be very bad in the future if we don´t do anything now.

  One dramatic problem is the lack of water. In Spain there are lots of regions that don´t have the water that the population need, because it rains very little. For instance the zones of the south of Spain, such as Almería, Granada, Jaén…

  Another problem is pollution. The smokes of the industry and the exhaust fumes of the cars are causing a hole in the ozone layer and health problems in people.

  The other important environmental problem in our country is the forest fires that destroy lots of places and they cause an important environmental damage.

  We have to change these situations. First we should save the water, and we shouldn't waste it. Secondly the Government should respect the Kyoto Protocol and we shouldn't contaminate so much, and finally, we should be careful with our forests, especially in summer.

  Finally, I predict that Spain will be a great place in the future and we´ll use only renewable energy sources. Therefore, everybody will enjoy of our great country.

Do you remember the text that you had to translate into Spanish as part of the exam last Friday? Here it is, just in case you have forgotten it

DON’T THROW IT AWAY, GIVE IT AWAY!!

The Freecycle website calculates that they’re saving 300 tons of waste a day. In one year, that’s the equivalent to four times the height of Mount Everest. It’s clearly an environmentally friendly scheme, but it has an additional important advantage: members obtain objects that they need, but can’t afford to buy. Their slogan is ‘Changing the world, one gift at a time.’

I expect you do not mind my using these examples to show the rest of the class how funny your translations were. In general, the exams were quite good and I know that all these mistakes are due to all the stress you have been suffering from so many exams in the last two weeks of the term.

Our planet, our dirty planet

Don't you think our planet is too full of waste and rubbish?? What can we do with the huge amount of rubbish that we produce every day??

Look at these images.

Sometimes we do not realize what's around us. We believe it is something that will always be there and yes, but ... should we not treat it with respect? Llittle by little we are destroying each landscape, each flower, each image.
Do we not realize that we are polluting our planet?
Do we prefer these images? We should look after what it is ours. We are not realizing that we are destroying our world and what is here. We have to blame ourselves!! We must do something!

Another entry of the spring

This is the spring flood of colour and life. But also full of water and cloudy skies. Equal it is hot that I fry, but the important thing there are the flowers that exist in this season.

It is necessary to give him more value to this season, because we are destroying it and very
few people realize from what it is going on.

I love spring, for its colours, its smell and its magic.
Undoubtedly it is the season of love, it is my season and that of so many other people. I hope we had enough head not to destroy it and to take more care.
